Cane and rush work

We offer a full range of traditional weaving processes for furniture repairs, including, cane seat weaving, rush, danish cord and rattan basketry.

Most traditional organic materials have a limited lifespan, usually 50-70 years at most before they become brittle and snap. A new seat can transform a broken heirloom back into a useful and attractive piece of furniture again. We take time to research every seat we replace, to ensure we are using the same original materials, sizes and weave patterns so as not to impact on the integrity of the piece.

We have worked with all manner of furniture, specialsing in Arts and Craft through Mid-Century to modern pieces; Jeanneret, Magistretti, Mies Van Der Rohe, Thonet and Wegner.

Our materials come from responsible suppliers, sourcing from South East Asia, from villages where government initiatives are in place, to support sustainable farming of the vine, in rattan growing parts of the world. This also means that tracts of tropical forest are properly maintained in order to support the rattans growth.

Please get in touch if you are seeking advice, or have a project for us. We can usually put together a quote from good images.

For a guide our Cane, Rush and Cord prices start at £200 per seat with discounts given for multiples.
